On Saturday, November 17, 2007, at approximately 4:00 AM, police and DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the 3100 block of Buena Vista Terrace, SE, for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, they located a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds lying in front of 3134 Buena Vista Terrace, SE. Emergency medical personnel could find no life signs.

The victim, who has been identified as 28-year-old Raymond Carpenter, of the 4200 block of H Street, SE, was later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia where he was officially pronounced dead.

The case is currently under investigation by members of the Department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone who has information about this case is asked to call (202) 727-9099.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
