At approximately 8:38 am Tuesday, November 27, 2007, police responded to the 1200 block of Sumner Road, SE, for the report of an unconscious male. Upon arrival officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body. DC Fire Department emergency personnel responded to the scene, but found no signs consistent with life. The victim in this case has been identified as 30-year-old Tyrone Williams, of the 1000 block of 12^th Street, SE.

The case is under investigation by members of the Department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The department currently offers a reward of up to TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
