On Wednesday, December 19, 2007, a juvenile male was arrested and charged with Murder II while Armed in connection with the shooting death of Darrell Sheppard.

On Friday, November 30, 2007, shortly after 6 PM,  members of the First District responded to the report of a shooting in the 1500 block of First Street SW.  Once on the scene, officers found  Darrell Sheppard suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.  Medical personnel responded to the scene and transported Mr. Sheppard to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedStar Unit where he was pronounced.
