On Wednesday, December 19, 2007, Metropolitan Police arrested 19-year-old Jonathan Johnson in connection with the murder of Phillip Marshall. Johnson was charged with Murder I while Armed.

On Thursday, October 25, 2007, just before 9 PM, members of the Fifth District responded to the report of a shooting in the unit block of O Street NW.  Upon arrival, officers found Phillip Marshall suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Medical personnel responded to the scene and transported Marshall to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedStar Unit where he was pronounced.
