Death Investigation in the 4200 of 6th Street, SE

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes Branch is investigating the deaths of four young people found inside of a residence this morning.

At approximately 9:30 am on Wednesday, January 9, United States Marshals serving an eviction notice in the 4200 block of 6th Street, SE discovered four decomposed bodies inside of a residence. Subsequently, they summoned Metropolitan Police officers to the scene.

The bodies appear to be those of four females ages 5 to 18 years. Their identities are being withheld pending positive identification and notification of their next of kin. The cause and manner of their deaths are pending an autopsy to be performed by the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia. However, detectives are investigating the deaths as homicides at this time.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call (202) 727-9099. The Department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
