This Saturday, residents of the Fourth Police District can register their bicycles, have their children fingerprinted, get crime prevention tips and help honor police officers and community members active in community policing at the district's annual Open House.

The theme of this year's Open House is "Bridging the Gap between the Police and Community." Explained Fourth District Commander Melvin Scott, "The Open House will focus on community awareness, safety tips, family fun and community policing information."
In addition to child fingerprinting (provided with an accompanying adult), bicycle registration, property engraving and other safety events, the Open House will include the presentation of awards to the Fourth District's outstanding police officers, community members and youth for the month of June.
