November 2007 Shooting Victim Dies

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes Branch is investigating a homicide following the November 2007 shooting of a victim who recently died.

At approximately 10:30 pm on Monday, November 12, 2007, police were called to the 900 block of Whaler Place, SE, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers subsequently located an adult male lying in the 800 block of Yuma Street, SE, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Following a series of medical treatments, the victim succumbed to his injuries at 8:49 pm on Thursday, January 10, 2008.  

The victim in this case has been identified as 32-year-old Lonelle Roger Thomas of the 3900 block of S Street, SE.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the motive in this case may have been robbery. The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
