Toddler Found Wandering on Public Street

At approximately 8 pm on Thursday, January 17, 2008, a 2-year-old male child was discovered wandering alone on Polk Street, NE, near the area of the Interstate 295 overpass.

 

The child was placed into the care of the District of Columbia Child and Family Services Agency as attempts were made to locate a parent or guardian. A parent of the child was subsequently located by officials. At this time, the child remains under the care of the District of Columbia Child and Family Services Agency. The name of the child in this case is being withheld.

 

The circumstances surrounding this case remain under active investigation by officials from the Child and Family Services Agency and members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth Investigations Branch.
