The Metropolitan Police Department is working in close cooperation with members from the Joint Terrorism Task Force and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in investigating a bomb threat which was directed at the World Bank on Thursday, January 17, 2008.
The World Bank building has been swept as a precautionary measure and nothing of a hazardous nature has been discovered.
There is no indication at this time that this incident presents any immediate threat to the city at large. The investigation into this threat remains ongoing.
