Fatal Shooting at 15th & W Street, SE

On Friday, January 18, 2008, at approximately 6:41 pm, police and DC. FIre Department emergency medical personnel responded to the vicinity of 15th and W Street, SE, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male bleeding profusely from a gunshot wound to the right leg.

He was transported to the Howard University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.The decedent has been identified as 31-year-old Jerome Williams, of the 3900 block of the Suitland Road, in Suitland, Maryland.

The case is under investigation by members of the department's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides  information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
