Significant quantities of cash and drugs were seized and four suspects were arrested Friday evening as members of the Fourth Police District's Focused Mission Team served search warrants at two locations in PSA 409: 3900 14th Street, NW, and 1445 Otis Place, NW. In all, $34,396 in cash and 30 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $140,000, were seized. In addition, four suspects were placed under arrest. The suspects have been identified as:
- Albert Brown, 62, of the 600 block of Longfellow Street, NW
- Mark Charles, 38, of the 1300 block of Oak Street, NW
- Larry Harmon, 48, of the 600 block of Morton Street, NE
- Janice Landell, 26, of 3900 14th Street, NW
All four suspects have been charged with Possession With the Intent to Distribute Marijuana. They were scheduled to be arraigned Saturday in D.C. Superior Court.
Fourth District Commander Melvin Scott said the apprehension of the suspects and the seizure of 30 pounds of marijuana are expected to have a significant impact on the distribution of marijuana in the community.
