Shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, Third District
units responded to the 2600 block of 15th Street, NW, for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, units located an unidentified male suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Units from the D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department were called to the scene to render medical assistance.
The victim, 36-year-old McKinley Paul Nelson of the 600 block of Hamil Street, N.E., was transported to a local area hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:27 p.m.
