Homicide in the 2100 Block of Queens Chapel Road, NE

At approximately 4:18 this morning, Sunday, February 17, 2008, police were called to the 2100 block of Queens Chapel Road, NE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located an unidentified unconscious black male inside of a vehicle, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead on the scene by members the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
 
An adult female victim was located inside of the same vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the neck. She was taken to an area local hospital and admitted in critical but stable condition.
 
The identity of the adult female victim is being withheld at this time, because she is a potential witness in this case.
 
The case is under investigation by members of the department's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
 
The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
