The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the assistance of the public in attempting to identify the body of a woman that was discovered in Northwest Washington.
On Thursday, February 21, 2008, at approximately 10:45 a.m., officers from the Fourth District responded to the area of 16th and Aspen Streets, NW, to investigate the report of a possible body that had been discovered in a wooded area near that location. Upon arrival, officers located the body of an adult female in an unconscious condition. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel were called to the scene, but could find no signs consistent with life. The decedent was subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. At this time there does not appear to be any signs of foul play evident in connection with this case; however, an autopsy has been conducted to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
The decedent in this case is described as an adult Asian female with dark hair. At the time of her discovery she was described as wearing a dark colored shirt, gray pants, black shoes and black knit gloves. The decedent was also wearing a heavy blue coat and was carrying several personal items including jewelry and a brown wallet described as being on a “neck chain.”
