Reportedly, at approximately 7:35 pm on Friday, September 24, 1999, a passenger of a Metrobus was shot through a window while the bus was standing in the 4200 block of Wheeler Road, SE. The bus driver continued on his route and discovered a short time later that one of his passengers was injured. He pulled over at the intersection of 4th Street and Mississippi Avenue, SE and summoned Police and DCFD emergency medical technicians.
The victim, who has been identified as 17-year-old Theodore Romerio Garvin, of the 3000 block of 9th Street, SE, was transported to D.C. General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:19 pm.
The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District .

UPDATE
At approximately 7:15 am on 9/30/99, detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District, assisted by Prince George's County Police, apprehended a suspect wanted on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant charging Murder I While Armed in connection with the death of Theodore R. Garvin. The suspect, identified as 19-year-old John Antwan Harris, of the 4000 block of Buckcreek Road in Temple Hills, MD. He is being held by P.G. County authorities pending extradition to the District.
