Pedestrian Fatality Nebraska and Connecticut Avenues, NW

At approximately 6:36 on the morning of Monday, March 17, 2008, a woman was struck by a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer at the intersection of Connecticut and Nebraska Avenues, NW while attempting to walk across Connecticut Avenue traveling westbound from Nebraska Avenue.

The victim, who has been identified as 64-year-old Gloria Nahid, of the 5200 block of Connecticut Avenue, NW, was taken to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedSTAR Unit where she was pronounced dead at 9:20 am.

The operator of the vehicle, who apparently was not physically injured, has been identified as 78-year-old Robert Lloyd Davis, of the 3000 block of Ellicott Road in Beltsville, Maryland

At this time, no charges have been filed in this case which remains under investigation by members of the department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit.
