At approximately 2:07 on the morning of Sunday, March 16, 2008, police were called to the 3100 block of Apple Road, NE for the report of a man down. Upon arrival, officers located 15-year-old Ryan Travon Harris, of the 3300 block of Buchanan Street in Mount Rainer, Maryland, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. DC Fire Department emergency personnel responded to the scene, but found no signs consistent with life.   

The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch.

The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
