MPD Announces Arrest in Homicide at Ingraham Street, NW

Members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch on Thursday arrested 21-year-old Mark Johnson in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Anthony Gerald Maddox.

Johnson, of Northwest Washington, DC, was charged with Murder One While Armed. He was arrested at 500 Indiana Avenue NW.

Shortly after 5:30 pm, on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, police and DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the 800 block of Ingraham Street, NW for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, they located Anthony Gerald Maddox, of the 5300 block of 8th Street, NW, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds lying alongside of Truesdale Elementary School. 

Mr. Maddox was transported to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedSTAR Unit where he was pronounced dead.
