Traffic Fatality on Interstate 295

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a traffic fatality which occurred on Interstate 295.

That victim was transported to the Washington Hospital Center’s Med Star Unit and pronounced dead at 9:20 pm.

The decedent in this case has been identified as 17-year-old Heather Alexis Johnson of the 7900 block of Woodhall Drive in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The driver of the vehicle,  identified as 24-year-old Leondre Cordell Edwards of Suitland, Maryland and the front seat passenger, identified as 20-year-old Wendy Taylor of Landover, Maryland were transported to an area hospital and admitted in stable condition.

At this time no charges have been filed in connection with this case which remains under investigation by members from the department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit.
