Suspect in Tonette Gail Ferguson Murder Case Apprehended

Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch have apprehended 50-year-old Oliver Jones, of the 1100 block of Queen Street, NE, who was wanted on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with First Degree Murder in connection with the death of 38-year-old Tonette Gail Ferguson.  He was arrested, without incident,  in the 2300 block of Ainger Place, SE at about 7:00 pm on Saturday, April 19, 2008.  He is scheduled to be arraigned in DC Superior Court on Monday, April 21, 2008.
 
Tonette Gail Ferguson was found dead as the result of blunt force trauma injuries in the 1600 block of Montello Avenue, NE shortly after 8 am on Wednesday, April 16, 2008.

Chief of Police Cathy Lanier commended Homicide Squad 4 and the Warrant Squad for a job well done.
