The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating the death of a man from the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, NW.

At approximately 12:05 am on Monday, April 21, 2008, police were called to an apartment building located in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, NW, to investigate the trouble at that location. Upon arrival officers located an adult male victim in a stairwell suffering from what appeared to be multiple stab wounds. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene but could find no signs consistent with life. The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia and pronounced dead.

The decedent in this case has been identified as 18-year-old Ronald Thompson of the 1100 block of Penn Street, NE. 

At this time this case is being investigated as a homicide, however the exact cause and manner of death in this case will be determined pending an autopsy to be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.
