The Metropolitan Police Department has announced that an arrest has been made in the March 28, 2008, fatal shooting of Dolmi Bonilla. A subsequent investigation conducted by detectives from the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch has led to the arrest of 24-year-old William Lee Legrand of the 4900 block of Ayers Place, SE.  He was arrested without incident this afternoon in Southeast Washington. He has been charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed in connection with the death of Mr. Bonilla and is scheduled to be arraigned in DC Superior Court tomorrow.

Mr. Bonilla was discovered in the rear of the Unit block of 49th Street, NE, at approximately 2:30 pm on Friday, March 28, 2008, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to Prince George’s Hospital Center and subsequently pronounced dead.
