Arrest Made in Park Road Murder Case

The Metropolitan Police Department announced today that an arrest has been made in the murder of  Amin Ibad Shabazz, which occurred on Friday, March 7, 2008 inside of 525 Park Road, NW.  Arrested was 44-year-old Tyrone Davis.  He was arrested at 11 am on Thursday, May 1, 2008 after being incarcerated at the Virginia Detention Center in Alexandria, Virginia. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Fugitive Unit placed a detainer for Mr. Tyrone Davis.  Subsequently he was released  from the Alexandria Detention Center and into the custody of the MPD Fugitive Unit.  At that time, he was transported to the MPD Criminal Investigations Division’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch for processing.  Mr. Davis has been charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed.
 
Shortly after 5:30 pm on Friday, March 7, 2008, police responded to an apartment inside  of 525 Park Road, NW to investigate the report of a disturbance.  Upon arrival, they discovered 40-year-old Amin Ibad Shabazz, of that address, who was unconscious and suffering from multiple stab wounds.  Subsequently, the body was transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office for the District of Columbia.
