The victim, who has been identified as 55-year-old Samuel L. Yun of the 12000 block of Backus Drive, Bowie, Maryland, was transported by morgue wagon to the DC Medical Examiner's Office where he was officially pronounced dead at 12:45 pm.

The case is currently under investigation by detectives of the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Division. It is apparent that Mr. Yun was killed during a robbery attempt.
