Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Special Investigations Branch announced today the arrest of a suspect who has been charged in connection with robberies of the same branch of the Washington First Bank. The suspect, identified as 50-year-old Mark Stubblefield, of no fixed address, was arrested, without incident, early on Monday, May 12, 2008 in the rear of 622 S Street, NW. Stubblefield has been charged with the April 7, 2008 robbery of the Washington First Bank branch located at 1500 K Street, NW.
The investigation is ongoing and investigators are looking into the possibility that the suspect committed several other similar bank robberies.
