Arrest Made in 2005 Murder Case

The Metropolitan Police Department announced today that an additional arrest has been made in the murder of Weldon Wade Locke, which occurred on September 29, 2005.  The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Reginald Tremaine Proctor, of the 6400 block of Hilmar Drive in Forestville, Maryland, was taken into custody at 3 pm on Thursday, May 15, 2008.  Proctor was arrested, without incident, by members of the department’s Warrant Squad in the 6600 block of Marlboro Pike in Forestville, Maryland.  He has been charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed.

On Thursday, September 29, 2005, at approximately 1:58 am, police were called to the 1800 block of Central Avenue, NE, for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, they located 44-year-old Weldon Wade Locke George suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body.  He was transported to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedSTAR unit where he was pronounced dead.
