The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a homicide which occurred last night in the 5000 block of Call Place, SE.
On Thursday, May 15, 2008, at approximately 11:55 pm, officers from the Sixth District responded to the 5000 block of Call Place, SE for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the neck. He was taken to a local area hospital and pronounced dead.
The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time, pending notification of the next of kin.
The case remains under investigation by detectives assigned to the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch. The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
