The Metropolitan Police Department has announced that an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of Robert Grady Marshall. At approximately 1:30 pm on Monday, May 19, 2008, 19-year-old Melvin Frank Knight of the 5000 block of Call Place, SE, was placed under arrest after turning himself in at the department’s Sixth District. Knight has been charged with Murder Two While Armed in the death of Robert Grady Marshall.

On Thursday, May 15, 2008, police were called to the 5000 block of Call Place, SE, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim who has been identified as 44-year-old Robert Grady Marshall was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead.
