Arrest Made in Robert Talley Murder Case

The Metropolitan Police Department has announced that an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of Robert Talley.

On Friday, April 17, 2008, members of the Fugitive Task Force located a suspect being sought on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with Murder II While Armed in connection with the death of Robert Talley.  The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Anthony Bradford, of the 1400 block of Bangor Street, SE, refused to waive extradition to the District of Columbia.  Therefore, he was processed as a fugitive from justice by Prince George’s County, Maryland authorities.   On Wednesday, May 21, 2008, Mr. Bradford was extradited from Prince George’s County to the District of Columbia and was processed at the Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch.

On Saturday, April 5, 2008, at 7:41 am, members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to the 2500 block of West Street, SE to investigate reports of the sound of gunfire.  Upon arrival, they located a male suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest and hand lying in the street. The victim, identified as 47-year-old Robert Talley, of the 1400 block of Morris Road, SE, was transported to the Washington Hospital Center’s MedSTAR Unit and admitted in critical condition.  Mr. Talley did not regain consciousness and was pronounced dead at 8:19 pm on Thursday, April 15, 2008.

Chief of Police Cathy Lanier commended Detective Anthony Greene, Detective Joshua Branson, and the members of Homicide Squad Five for their outstanding work in bringing this case to a swift conclusion.
