Arrest Made in 2006 Homicide Case from the 3300 Block of Minnesota Avenue, SE

On Tuesday, May 26, 2008, at approximately 10:15 am, members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Warrant Squad arrested 25-year-old David Barmer Allen, of the 2600 block of Douglas Road, SE in Hanover, Maryland, in connection with a 2006 case. He was arrested without incident on a DC Superior Court Warrant charging him with Voluntary Manslaughter. He is expected to be arraigned today in DC Superior Court.

At approximately 12:25 am, on Saturday, September 9, 2006, Metropolitan Police were called to the 3300 block of Minnesota Avenue, SE, for the report of a stabbing.  Upon arrival, officers located two adult males suffering from apparent stab wounds to the body. One of the victims, a 40-year-old male, was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated and released. His name is being withheld due to the fact that he is considered a witness in this case.

DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene, but could find no signs consistent with life for the second victim. That victim, who has been identified as 39-year-old Walter Jones, of the 2300 block of Good Hope Road, SE, was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia and pronounced dead.
