Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch are investigating the death of a man found today inside of his apartment at 2528 Naylor Road, SE.
On Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at approximately 2:44 pm, police responded to an apartment inside of 2528 Naylor Road, SE to investigate the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, they located an unconscious man lying in bed in a back bedroom. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel also responded to the scene, but they could find no life signs.
The body of the decedent, who has been identified as 47-year-old James A. Woodland, of the Naylor Road address, was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause and manner of death. However, detectives are currently investigating this death as a possible homicide.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
