Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred yesterday afternoon on Xenia Street, SE.
On Thursday, June 26, 2008, at approximately 2:30 pm, police officers assigned to the Seventh District responded to the 800 block of Xenia Street, SE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival they found an adult male suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded, but could find no signs consistent with life. The victim was subsequently pronounced dead on the scene at 4:50 pm by a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia. .
The decedent in this case has been identified as 29-year-old Maurice Pearson of the 800 block of Barnaby Street, SE.
