Homicide in the 3900 Block of 9th Street, NE

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a homicide which occurred early this morning in the 3900 block of 9th Street, NE.

At approximately 1 am on Thursday, July 17, 2008, officers from the Fifth District responded to the 3900 block of 9th Street, NE, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival they located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but were unable to find any signs consistent with life. The victim was subsequently pronounced dead on the scene by a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.

The decedent in this case has been identified as 29-year-old Daniel Guion of the 4000 block of 9th Street, NE.

This case remains under investigation by detectives assigned to the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch. The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
