The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 1300 block of First Street, NW.
At approximately 1:54 am on Friday, July 25, 2008, officers from the Fifth District responded to the 1300 block of First Street, NW, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was subsequently transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:33 am.
The decedent in this case is identified as 24-year-old Alan Martin of the unit block of Hanover Place, NW.
This case remains under investigation by detectives from the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch.
