The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a man and a woman from the 1700 block of Q Street, SE.
At approximately 11:50 pm on Monday, July 28, 2008, officers from the Sixth District were called to an apartment building in the 1700 block of Q Street, SE, to investigate the possible sounds of gunshots from inside. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man and a woman inside of an apartment unit suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but were unable to find any signs consistent with life. The victims were subsequently pronounced dead on the scene by a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.
The identities of the victims in this case are being withheld at this time pending the proper notification of the next of kin.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. In this case which involves two victims, the reward will be up to $50,000.
