Death of 12-Year-Old Ruled a Homicide

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch is currently conducting a homicide investigation into death of 12-year-old Marisol Caceres.

On July 30, 2009, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death to be strangulation, manner homicide.  The OCME did not find any apparent evidence of sexual assault, decomposition, stab wounds or suffocation.  Also, detectives have determined that there was no forced entry into the apartment in the unit block of Hawaii Avenue, NE in the Fourth District.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
