The Metropolitan Police Department currently is investigating a homicide which occurred in the 1300 block of Morris Road, SE.

At approximately 10:50 pm on Saturday, August 23, 2008,  officers from the Seventh district responded to the 1300 block of Morris Road, SE, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male in the rear of an apartment building at that location suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:15 a.m.

The decedent in this case has been identified as 23-year-old Jason Harris of the 14000 block of Hatfield Square in Centerville, Virginia.

This case remains under investigation by detectives assigned to the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
