MPD Detectives Seek to Identify Suspected Shooter

PhotoDetectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual depicted on a surveillance video who may have been involved in the shooting death of 15-year-old Drevon Proctor who was found in the 800 block of Southern Avenue, SE.

Police obtained the surveillance video from an apartment building near where the incident occurred. On Saturday, August 9, 2008, at approximately 1:35 am, members of the Seventh District responded to the 800 block of Southern Avenue, SE for the report of a man down. Upon arrival, officers located 15-year-old Drevon Proctor, of the 1200 block of Southview Drive, in Oxon Hill, Maryland, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
