Homicide in the 100 Block of 46th Street, NE

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a homicide which occurred in the 100 block of 46th Street, NE.

At approximately 12:46 pm on Sunday, August 31, 2008, officers from the Sixth District were called to the 100 block of 46th Street NE, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unidentified adult female at that location suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead at 1:13 p.m.

The identity of the decedent in this case is being withheld pending positive identification and the proper notification of the next-of-kin.

This case remains under investigation by detective from the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
