The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a double shooting which occurred in the 1400 block of U Street, NW. That shooting has resulted in the death of one man.
At approximately 4:30 pm on Sunday, September 28, 2008, officers from the Second District responded to the 1400 block of T Street, NW, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers subsequently located an adult male in the rear of the 1400 block of U Street, NW, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Howard University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:17 pm.
The decedent in this case has been identified as 22-year-old Joshua Nunez of Silver Spring, Maryland.
It was later determined that a second victim from this scene had arrived at an area hospital by personal vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. That victim, an adult male has been admitted for treatment of his injuries. His exact condition is unknown at this time. His identity is being withheld since he is considered to be a witness in this case.
This case remains under investigation by detectives assigned to the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch.
