Homicide in the 2400 Block of Elvans Road, SE

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a homicide from the 2400 block of Elvans Road, SE.

At approximately 1:42 am on Tuesday, September 30, 2008, officers from the Seventh District responded to the 2400 block of Elvans Road, SE, to investigate the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male in that block suffering from apparent multiple stab wounds.  DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but were unable to find any signs consistent with life. The victim was subsequently pronounced dead on the scene by a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.

The decedent in this case has been identified as 35-year-old Michael Joseph Simpson of the 200 block of I Street, SW.

This case remains under investigation by detectives from the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
