Arrest Made in the Homicide of Phillip Christopher Jackson

The Metropolitan Police Department announced an arrest has been made in the homicide of Phillip Christopher Jackson. A warrant was issued for the arrest of 17-year-old Deandre Maurice Taylor, of Southeast Washington, on October 7, 2008.

On Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at approximately 8:15 am, Mr. Taylor turned himself in at the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch.  Deandre Maurice Taylor has been charged as an adult with Murder II While Armed.

Shortly before 1 am on Saturday, September 20, 2008, officers assigned to the Seventh District responded to the 1200 block of Savannah Place, SE to investigate the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, they found what appeared to be a crime scene, but did not locate a victim. Shortly thereafter, a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest arrived by private vehicle at a local hospital.  The victim, identified as 18-year-old Phillip Christopher Jackson, of the 2500 block of Domingo Road in Bryans Road, Maryland, was pronounced dead at 1:35 am.
