On Friday, October 10, 2008, Mayor Adrian Fenty and Chief of Police Cathy L. Lanier announced at a news conference the police response to crime in Adams Morgan.  From 8 pm on Friday, October 10 to 4 am on Saturday, October 11, police emphasis on alcohol violations and related crimes in the Adams Morgan/U Street, NW area netted the following results:

• Three Arrests for Misrepresentation of Age
• One arrest for Fugitive from Justice – Grand Larceny
• One arrest for Unregistered Auto
• 90 Notices of Infractions for moving violations
• Seven PD Forms 61-C for tint violations
• Seven PD Forms 61-D for Failure to Yield Right of Way to Pedestrian
• Ten Notices of Infraction for parking violations

The increased police presence to deter crime in Adams Morgan is ongoing.
