Homicide in the Unit Block of N Street, SW

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a homicide which occurred in the unit block of N Street, SW.

At approximately 10:16 pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, officers from the First District responded to the unit block of N Street, SW, to investigate the possible sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male in the rear of that location suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:56 pm.

The decedent in this case has been identified as 21-year-old James Hill of the 600 block of H Street, SW.

This case remains under investigation by detectives from the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
