Homicide in the 3000 block of Georgia Avenue, NW

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide which occurred in the rear of the 3000 block of Georgia Avenue, NW.

 

At approximately 10:16 pm, on Friday, October 17, 2008, officers from the Third District responded to the 700 block of Columbia Road, NW, to investigate the report of sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located 19-year-old Arthur Gale, of the 2300 block of Brooks Drive, in Suitland, Maryland, in the rear of the 3000 block of Georgia Avenue, NW, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. Personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department responded to the scene, but were unable to find any signs consistent with life. The victim was subsequently pronounced dead on the scene by a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia. The victim’s remains were transported to Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia pending autopsy.

 

This case remains under investigation by detectives from the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
