Homicide in the 300 block of 62nd Street, NE

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide which occurred in the 300 block of 62nd Street, NE.

At approximately 9:36 pm on Tuesday, October, 21, 2008, officers from the Sixth District responded to the 6200 block of Clay Street, NE, to investigate the possible sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male in the 300 block of 62nd Street, NE, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital by personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department. He was subsequently pronounced dead at 2:45 am.

The decedent in this case has been identified as 35-year-old Darian Djuan Cole of the 6200 block of Clay Street, NE. 

This case remains under investigation by detectives from the department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch. The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
