Fatal Shooting on 11th Street, NW

Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch are currently investigating a homicide that occurred on 11th Street, NW.

 

Shortly before 8 pm on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, Third District officers responded to the vicinity of 11th and Harvard Streets, NW to investigate the sounds of gunfire.  Upon arrival, they located a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds lying in the street in the 2800 block of 11th Street, NW.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department personnel responded to the scene but their efforts were futile.  The victim, identified as 37-year-old Louis Beamon, of the 5300 block of Quincy Street in Hyattsville, Maryland, was officially pronounced dead on the scene at 10 pm by a representative of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.  Subsequently, the remains were transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
