Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the homicide of Deloris Persha.
At approximately 1:15 pm on Friday, October 31, 2008, members from the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 17-year-old Ricky Donaldson of Fort Washington, Maryland. Donaldson was arrested in Northeast Washington and charged as adult under Title 16 of the DC Code with First Degree Murder While Armed in the death of Deloris Persha.
Shortly after 2:00 am on Saturday, September 13, 2008, police were called to the 300 block of V Street, NW, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female at that location suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. The victim who was identified as 44-year-old Deloris Persha was transported to an area hospital and admitted in critical condition. She subsequently died as a result of her injuries on Thursday, September 18, 2008.
