The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances which resulted in a fatal traffic accident in the 600 block of Taylor Street, NW.

At approximately 4:41 pm on Friday, November 14, 2008, a 1999 Mercedes Benz S320 was reportedly observed traveling northwest bound on New Hampshire Avenue, NW, when the vehicle appeared to drift out of control and subsequently collide with a 1995 Chevrolet Blazer in the 600 block of Taylor Street, NW.

The operator of the Mercedes Benz, an adult male, was subsequently transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead at 5:20 pm.  There were no other apparent physical injuries reported as a result of this accident.

The circumstances surrounding this accident remain under investigation by members from the department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit.
