Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch have arrested a male suspect in connection with a homicide that occurred in the 3900 block D Street, SE.

On Friday November 21, 2008, at approximately 1:30 am, members of the Sixth District responded to the 3900 block of D Street, SE for a reported domestic Burglary in progress possibly Domestic related.  Upon arrival, the officers discovered 33-year-old Tiffany Gates, of the 3900 block of D Street, SE suffering from apparent stab wounds.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead at 2:20 am.

The suspect is identified as 31-year-old Roderick Ridley. He has been charged with Second Degree Murder.
